Digos Tacos

If you’re craving authentic Mexican street food with bold flavors and a lively atmosphere, Digos Tacos is the place to be. Nestled in the heart of Chicago at 2624 W North Ave, this local gem serves up some of the most satisfying tacos I’ve had in the city. As soon as you walk in, the scent of freshly grilled meats and handmade tortillas lets you know you’re in for something special.

I visited Digos Tacos with a couple of friends on a sunny afternoon, and from the start, the service was warm and welcoming. The restaurant has a casual, vibrant vibe with colorful decor that adds to the overall charm. Whether you're eating inside or enjoying the outdoor seating, the place feels both energetic and relaxed — perfect for a quick lunch or laid-back dinner.

What impressed me most was the Digos Tacos menu — a flavorful lineup of options that go far beyond the basics. I ordered the carne asada and al pastor tacos, and both were packed with juicy, well-seasoned meat and fresh toppings. The tortillas were soft, warm, and clearly made fresh. For a little extra kick, I added their house-made salsa, which had the perfect amount of heat without overpowering the flavor.

One standout for me was the taco de carnitas — tender, slow-cooked pork with just the right balance of richness and spice. I paired it with a chilled agua fresca, which was refreshing and delicious. It’s easy to see why Digos Tacos reviews are consistently glowing — this place delivers.

For anyone exploring tacos in the city, this spot deserves a top spot on your list. You can check out some Digos Tacos photos online to get a sense of the vibrant plating and cozy atmosphere. From locals to first-time visitors, everyone seems to leave happy and full. Whether you're browsing the Digos Tacos Chicago menu or just walking by, don’t miss out on this true taste of Mexico right in Chicago.

“ Local taco spot which now has new name. We usually walk to this place as it is nearby. There is free parking on North Ave. They are pretty quick at finalizing your order. What we have gotten here are the burritos, chicken dinner special and tacos. All are good. The price is reasonable for the area. I noticed that they now have specials on the weekend for traditional mexican fare. During the winter I seen menudo and pozole. Additionally they have Taco Tuesdays for the new crowd. All in all a solid spot. Not fancy but clean and every that works there is nice. Inside they have traditional mexican juices and horchata. Additionally you can get guacamole and fresh chips as an add on. This place is BYOB. ”

“ I saw this place as I was driving down North Ave and decided to stop in for lunch. I got the taco dinner and it was delicious. I usually stick to chicken or veggie but decided to give the carne asada a try and let me tell you, I'm happy i did. It was perfecto. I will definitely be back for more. ”

“ I consider myself a taco connoisseur. I've been in Chicago for over 13 years and have visited countless taco spots. This place is VERY SOLID. We got steak taco, al pastor taco, chicken tostada and al pastor burrito. On a scale of 1-10, I put this at a 9-9.5. Very well seasoned, excellent shells, great toppings that are abundant and the people who run it are extremely friendly and caring. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. ”

“ They have a good menu selection. I've had a taco dinner and a chicken fajita dinner. I enjoyed both! The serving are big enough for take home. The place is clean and bright. The service is prompt and friendly. I didn't care much for the chips, salsa was good. ”
